Magnacharge Battery Corporation, a subsidiary of Battery & Wireless Solutions Inc, is a leading battery supply company in Canada. From our manufacturing facility in New Westminster, BC Canada and our four warehouse distribution locations across Canada, we provide quality battery products and service to the automotive, industrial, commercial and household markets. The Magnacharge product line is sold through retail stores and service centers specializing in battery products and service.
Originally formed in 1964 as a manufacturer of batteries for the automotive replacement marketplace, Magnacharge has grown to become a leading supplier of quality battery products to a greatly expanded and diverse Canadian marketplace. From four warehouse distribution centres across the country, Magnacharge supplies products to their four main marketplaces:
Automotive: providing batteries and accessories to the automotive, RV and Marine resellers.
Industrial: custom manufacturing for industrial applications such as forklifts and off grid power requirements.
Cellular Technology: providing cellular phone batteries and accessories to cellular dealers across Canada.
In 1995, the company focused its efforts on the high growth wireless communication and mobile computing markets which were growing at a much faster rate than the automotive and industrial markets. To expedite the growth, the shareholders of Magnacharge acquired Dinosaur Energy Ltd., a public company trading and changed the name to Battery & Wireless Solutions Inc. (TSXV-BWS). The acquisition of this public company provided access to capital markets to continue expansion of the wholesale divisions, while at the same time creating a new retail company to showcase the growing number of peripheral and wireless products in a chain of corporate and franchise specialty retail stores in Canada.
